Jill Gagliardi currently holds the position of 5th grade band director at Village School in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District in West Windsor, NJ. At Village, Ms. Gagliardi teaches wind and percussion instrument lessons and conducts two 5th grade bands and POPS!, a select wind ensemble for advanced 5th grade band students. She holds a bachelors degree in Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York and is in the process of completing a masters degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. A strong advocate for developments in the field of music education, her research interests include student self-assessment practices and retention. Ms. Gagliardi's educational philosophy is centered around the principle of "artist as educator" and is a firm believer that every child should have the opportunity to become involved in music and the arts. She has performed at many well known concert venues including Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in April of 2015 and held the position of 2nd clarinet/bass clarinet for three seasons with Allegro: The Chamber Orchestra of Lancaster, based in Lancaster, PA, Ms. Gagliardi has studied clarinet with Doris Hall-Gulati of the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and Franklin & Marshall College, Richard MacDowell, retired professor of clarinet at University of Texas-Austin, and Richard Faria, professor of clarinet at Ithaca College.
